I-WEEK - FIRE ON FIRE FEST 2008

Chicos,

Saludos,

-ignacio

NOTA DEL ICENTER SIGUE:

Dear International Student Group leaders,
As you may already know each May the Bechtel International Center holds a celebration of being international at Stanford. This year, like last, it will take the form of an International Week.

This week will run from May 3-11, 2008.

During International Week we hope to offer 7-10 different events to celebrate different cultures and traditions.

At the moment we are looking for expressions of interest from you if your group is interested in offering one of these events.

We have no set agenda regarding what kind of event we think people should offer we are just looking to involve as many different groups and cultures as possible. Last year events included BBQ, film, performance and academic discussion and we would be happy to see any or all of these repeated again this year or added to. Another thing which was a highlight for us last year was the number of groups that worked together to offer events - this is something we would like to encourage to occur again.

The I-Center will help you as much as possible in organizing these events so please feel free to come back to me with any questions or queries that you have.

We have funding available to help cover the cost of putting on an event. For you this will look like a regular application to the Billie Achilles fund and much of the pool for spring quarter will be focused toward International Week so please do not let money put you off making a suggestion for an event.

I would like to start pulling things together as soon as possible as May will be on us before we know it. To help with this I am asking for expressions of interest to be given to me by Feb 29 so that we can have the big picture outline finished by the end of this quarter.

Please get back to me as soon as you can even if you only have a vague idea or know that you want to be involved but do not know what your group would like to do.

Everyone at the I-Center looks forward to working with as many of you as possible on this great celebration.

I look forward to hearing your ideas and interests

Best

Naja

about us

Argentinos en Stanford is a student group founded in 1993 by students from Argentina attending Stanford University. Some of our objectives are to help current students welcome fellow argentineans arriving to Stanford, to share Argentine culture with the rest of the Stanford family as well as to reach out to argentineans in the surrounding communities. Argentinos en Stanford is a group open to all Stanford students, faculty, and staff, as well as to Bay Area residents interested in Argentinean culture.
